Children and teens assemble the wooden structure, connect the motors and propellers, install the electronics, attach two recycled plastic bottles as floats, and then control their creation on the water.

More than a simple model, this project combines DIY construction, basic electronics, propulsion and remote-control technology in an engaging experiment that demonstrates how engineering concepts can create a functional machine.

🔬 Build a Real Working STEM Project

Instead of simply playing with a finished toy, builders create the boat themselves.

🪵 Assemble the laser-cut wooden structure
⚙️ Install the electric motors and propellers
🔌 Connect the electronic components
♻️ Add two plastic bottles to create the floating hull
🎮 Assemble and use the wireless controller
🌊 Test and navigate the finished boat on water

The complete process encourages experimentation and helps turn basic engineering concepts into something tangible and fun.

♻️ Turn Everyday Bottles into a Floating Boat

One of the most interesting features of this project is its use of ordinary plastic bottles as flotation pontoons.

Once attached to the wooden chassis, the bottles provide buoyancy while the twin electric propellers provide propulsion.

This creates an easy-to-understand demonstration of buoyancy, balance, propulsion and basic marine engineering.

Important: Plastic bottles are not boat.

The included handheld controller operates the twin-motor propulsion system, allowing the builder to experiment with movement and steering on the water.

Building something and then actually controlling it makes the project especially rewarding.

⚙️ Twin-Motor Propulsion

The boat uses two electric motors with separate propellers, mounted on opposite sides of the wooden platform.

The dual-propeller configuration provides the thrust needed to move the lightweight bottle-based craft through the water while introducing young builders to the relationship between motors, electrical power and mechanical movement.

🧠 Learn Through Hands-On
